Mists rise over the bluff
And past the moss
Forming tears on the
Faded, dark marble.
A mute testament,
She stands as a reminder
Of the transitory nature
Of existence.
A grim weeper mourning
A life cut short,
Or lived long
And forgotten
In hustle of our lives.

The image
Of an ugly child,
Negative image of Bella,
Looks down upon me.
Her crooked teeth biting
Into an apple.
The store thinks I would buy
This food for me just by the example.
I don't think so.

  1. :) The first one gave me thoughts of mother nature mourning our passing and the second, well after the chuckle I could very much understand the non acceptance of an apple from Bella!

    Well done!

  2. The longer I live the less I remember and yet the harder it is to forget those who are gone.

    1. Yeah, I'm finding that true as I get older. It must be the knowledge that I will join them in due time.

    1. Thanks. If you ever get back on this side of the pond, I recommend a couple of days in the Savannah/Charleston area. Especially the old cemeteries. Absolutely gorgeous grounds and statuary.
