I think? (blogophilia 18.8)

Ever feel like this?

Where you have finally discovered your self awareness and began to cast off the doubts of life, only to be shut off by the world?

The cosmic joke is that doubt is the origin of all wisdom.

For as much yearning for love and certainty that arises from day to day living, at the end we are left only with ourselves and our doubts. We shiver in colder weather, then swelter in the sun. Blaming our Gypsy souls for our restlessness. Damaging our relationships and leaving ourselves cold and lifeless at the end of the day.

When you are faced with doubt, what is it trying to teach you? To speed up or slow down? Is this the right one or not?

You then pass the answers to the next generation, who refuse to listen and the cycle starts over again.

It is all truly in vain.

Door Number Three (Blogophilia 17.8)

There is no cure like travel
So they say.
But the Yellow Brick Road
Is pyrite
Lined with ravens
And no one is
Who they say.

As the darkness falls,
Who will be the last to fall?
Behind door number three
Ready to give away the trip
To Puerto Vallarta
To set up the new illusion?
Nail them while they are vulnerable.
That's my motto
Lead them down the pier
Into the endless lake.
Blinded by a deadly
Lemon sky.

Writing on the Wall (Blogophilia 16.8)

These were the words of the prophet written on the subway walls.

And tenement halls.

So, I did.

I've spent too much time on this Random Walk of Life stuff.

It is all vain, anyway.

Ecclesiastes says so.

God doesn't require us to succeed, he only requires us to try.

I know.

You fear I'll change my mind.

Never my love.

Looking back (Blogophilia 15.8)

Shifting through the sands of time?

It is the raƮson d'etre for my writing.

Every week I round up the usual suspects and grill them on the prompts.

Characters based loosely on life.

Sometimes I think it is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Other times, they claim I despise them.

Truth is, if I gave them any thought, I would.

I let them kiss as if it were their last time.

Sometimes it is.

They come to me as ghosts in the deep woods.

As Little Red Riding or Alice in Wonderland.

Early on, the text was laid naked with little editing.

Now, it is fussed over like a fashion model.

Trying for the "just so" look.

Early clowning is now more circumspect.

I am older.

There seems to be less to laugh about.

And that is sad.
