We Toil

Image
We toil For unseen gains From unseen bosses Living in gated houses In gated communities Driving our little tanks Filled with precious cargo Seeking protection from Unbridled anger In our own prison Where we are guard And inmate.

I Used To Be Funny.

Seriously. I had a quick wit and a snarky comeback for most anything. Everything was stupid and subject to my ridicule. The world hasn't changed much. I have. I tried working with it. I tried getting along. But what I used to find stupid and funny. Is now funny and sad. I would get angry At children dying at the hands of their parents. Of people crushed in road rage. Of the rich and powerful floutinng every rule. And not seeing retribution. But it is all in vain. And I know it. It's not funny anymore. And nothing I say will make much difference. I guess I'll shut up. You're welcome.

Quiet storm

Quiet in the room Storming in the mind Swirling thoughts of mayhem And depravity Run parallel and above Rational thought. Shocked faces Of the virtual victims Cause a thrill In the current world. Shame in knowing This current exists Just on the other side Of my eyes.

Dirt

Dirt covers the coffin Packed down Ended A long slog A slow, painful death. And I watched from The beside My glee barely contained. Karma did visit In this life. And returned the pain Inflicted for so long. The memories of nights Wondering if your drunk And angry self Would come to visit. And with what? A belt? A dildo? Or just plain rape? So, I cheered when the cancer came. Gleefully shorted your meds. And now it is over. Why am I so empty?

So Here We Are (GBE 2, #33)

Work.... The first frontier. What we put up with on a daily basis. The petty jealousies and overt whining. Trying to do the tasks assigned. Every day I go to the office with my To Do list all ready, fueled by a pot of coffee.  The office is always empty.  Everyone else drags in when they can.  I find I get much more work when I don't have to listen to everyone else whine.  I answer my emails and prepare my responses to my clients. Then I sit back and listen. "I don't see how they expect us to to do this." "Too much work.  Too many changes." I've heard it all before. Guess what?  If those people had just sat down and did the task, they'd be done by now. It really is annoying.
