Punk (Blogophilia 49.5)

Punk and anger
Go together,
As it were
A generations rebellion
Against all that
Had come before.

Jello, Siouxie, and Serj
Yelling and screaming
Telling
What is wrong
With the world.

Bob, Joan and Pete
Still said it better
With more passion
And fewer decibels.

But the rebellion
Is a phase
We all become parodies
Satire doesn't effect change.
Only time does.

  1. Time + change for sure. But enough energy can impact the rate of the changes. (Or at least I need to believe that.)

  2. What you noted about parodies is the most brilliant and logical conclusion anyone has ever expressed over this social phenomenon.
Very well stated, Christopher, and entertaining, as well.

  4. Rebels from every generation! It's what we did as youth, and then we cringe when we see our own kids doing it. Well done!!

    1. I don't cringe. I just realize they have to go through this phase to become adults.

  5. I like Bob, Joan and Pete's approach better than those that came after. Excellent write! 8 points Earthling! :)
