Lonely (GBE 89)
A lonely existence
Shut away
From hate
From love
From touch
From life
Only to ponder
Clouds shutting away
From you.

Your poem captured every bit of emotion the picture showed. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I understood the last bit. Were the clouds shutting away the light of life? If so, was it not the speaker's choice to be cut off from such things as love and touch, but rather being forced upon them? I am truly useless at 'getting' poetry so forgive me if my comments seem daffy! I do love the first bit though and the words suit the picture perfectly.
ReplyDeleteHe shut everyone one out and now the clouds are doing the same to him by closing the blue sky.
DeleteSince I think poetry speaks to each reader, I will share with you what it says to me.
ReplyDeleteIf I choose isolation, I choose to be isolated as well. That which I turn away from, will also turn from me and perhaps in larger scale.
